Been on a crazy grind since August, between AKQA, Roughneck, and the Fam I've seriously had no days off. So I thought I would hit ya'll with a Mega Post to give you some highlights from the past few months.

One of the big reasons things became so busy in August was the ATTENTION I received from my Degree Dept. for my Senior Project a complete re-brand, case study, and fully functioning Interactive Campaign for Southwest Airlines.

We've been workin with Team Jaded for awhile on It's a Rough Life.
On Oct. 6th we released the first episode of the pilot season and
are currently on Episode 6.

There was a calender miscommunication with this years BART TOUR, so we had little to no time to promote.I figured a short promo spot would be more effective than a flyer. Thanks to some outside help from Marc Secher and Greg Hansen, I was able to squeeze this one out, CLOSE TO 2K HITS IN 5 DAYZ with embeds even in Japan and Germany…NOT BAD.

Halloween was off the hook, lyric went "full" Dracula and Audi dropped this sweet commercial a few days before. It was all done in San Francisco in-house by AKQA & AKQA Film SF. Originally intended to just be seeded through digital channels and social media, it was loved so much that it ended up in Audi's national cable TV rotation!

For one of my finals I did a case study of the LA Punk scene around its beginning .
I came up with a new promotional avenue/gimmick that still fell into the bands
limitations and parameters in 1976.

For part of my final i created an instillation of a 11 x 17 missing poster that the
band could have put up all over the sunset strip. The poster/flyer was designed
to mimic a missing poster for a "RUNAWAY" at the time. It also tells a story,
which would create a buzz or hype around the bands name, especially because
Joan was a minor at the time. To seal the deal i added the DIY "tear a number
strips" with their manager at the time Kim Fowley's name on them.

Ive been totally blowin it as usual with the blog, but here is some footage and EXTRA PHOTOS from ROUGH SIDE OF DA TRAX on Labor Day in SLC. Shit was super fun drove with the RNCK CLAN 12 hours both ways, 2 nights in Reno, 2nd stay in Reno was with the sand people from Burning Man. Shamanski stayed like 2 extra weeks in SLC, took the 16hr train back and his train crashed into something so it was like a 24hr train ride! Shit was epic.

BROOKLYN BANKS FENCED THE FUCK OFF

After about five or six “last day of the Banks” announcements, as of the evening of June 21, 2010, the Brooklyn Banks have been fenced off in order to administer repairs on the Brooklyn Bridge that are expected to last until 2014. While there is no concrete information in regards to the status of the spot (more than likely, they’ll probably build enough skate parks and “plazas” by then and tell you that its ok for them to knock it down in three-and-a-half years because you have other stuff to skate), the Department of Transportation (or Bridges and Tunnels, one of those things) seems like it is being deliberately vague in terms of announcing what plans they have for those of us that will not succumb to cocaine addiction, failed art careers (same thing, sorry), and still be skating in 2014.

The western entrance of the spot is fully fenced off, as depicted, but obviously, you can hop the fence unless you’re morbidly obese. The eastern entrance, as of the 21st, has not been fenced off, but yeah, they should be getting to that any day now. The nine stair is still skateable.

The Trick Factory is a group of guys that have been homies for quite some time, most of these guys live in boulder or baltimore, but they all get together once a year typically on Thanksgiving to rage together. New video from Seasons Skate Shop in Albany, with the hometowners Justin Smith & Owen Madden, this shit brings back mad memories of when I use to go back and forth from Brooklyn & Albany. All night filming missions, tennis courts, schenecatdy,the Brandy Wine diner,with the Dwayne Lounge behind it. I had it going on, anytime i wanted to dip from the city I would vanish in the middle of the night on metro north.I had a parking pass in Poughkeepsie were i left my car and then would drive up to Albany. But for real, Upstate New York has tons of undiscovered skate spots, just waiting to be killed. Check the famous Albany pool that they used in the DQM 09 Winter LookBook.
